Manor West Retail Park is delighted to be welcoming The New England Irish Harp Orchestra this Sunday, May 7th, from 1-2pm as they prepare for their performance at St. John’s Church of Ireland, Ashe St., Tralee at 8pm that evening.
The New England Irish Harp Orchestra, based near Boston USA, has been performing for over nineteen years under the direction of Regina Delaney. Regina trained in Ireland and is no stranger to these shores, having very strong connections with the “The Gathering Festival” in Killarney and others. The Orchestra performs throughout New England traditional and contemporary Irish and American music. Working with many Irish harps, fiddles, and bodhráns. The Orchestra weaves tunes and songs for a magical performance and a celebration of the Irish Harp. Made up of 6 Harps and other instruments it is a feast for the ears. Last time they were in Killarney they got the largest crowd ever seen at St. Mary’s Church of Ireland. At that concert our local harp builder Tim Carroll, supplied many of the instruments for that concert.
On Saturday 06 May 2023, The New England Irish Harp Orchestra will be performing at St. Mary’s Church of Ireland, Main St. Killarney, Ireland at 8pm. Also on Sunday 7 May, they will perform at St. John’s Church of Ireland, Ashe St, Tralee at 8:00pm. Special Guests – Afro Trad Ireland, will be joining them. There will be a retiring collection. Donations are accepted at the door and the Orchestra will have their CDs for sale. The New England Irish Harp Orchestra last toured Ireland back in 2014.
